Roman Russo

Founder GT:LEARN SUSTAINABILITY ACADEMY

Roman Russo is a sustainability strategist and founder of Green Toolkit, a platform that helps film and TV productions track, validate and reduce their CO₂ impact. He also founded GT:Learn – The Sustainability Academy, a modular training programme that supports crews and creatives in implementing real sustainability on set, from onboarding to certification. All learning paths are aligned with ISO 14067 and the GHG Protocol and developed in close collaboration with studios, trainers and sustainability experts. Before launching Green Toolkit, Roman spent over 30 years working as a 1st Assistant Director on international feature films, series and commercial productions. He knows the pace, pressure and realities of a working set – and how to integrate sustainability without slowing things down. Today, he supports productions across Europe and North America in aligning with standards like ISO 14067 and Green Motion – with solutions that are as creative as they are pragmatic. “I know what a production day looks like. That’s why Green Toolkit was built to work on real sets – not in spreadsheets.”
